I just got my PTO clutches replaced and for the first time was able to try out this old rusty 550. I notice that the 3 pt hitch arms reach nearly to touch the ground. This causes an implement to be limited to a short raise. My MF flat bottom plow is way out of range for the pins on that implement are about 18 inches from the ground. the 550 will not come close to lifting the plow even off the ground. Is this normal? I hope the above is clear. Thanks for your time. Allen

No, that is not normal for the 550 3 point. It should lift that plow off the ground, The bottom of the plow should be about a foot off the ground. Hopefully it is just out of adjustment. This site has been very helpful to me, otherwise pick up a manual for the 550. GOOD LUCK!

I think you are trying to tell us your lift travel for the 3 point is out of adjustment. Raise the 3 point all the way up and then pick up on the lift links by hand. How much free travel do you have? J.
