I have unfortunately pushed out the lower left 3 point arm bracket enough to start a transmission fluid leak when pushing a fallen tree backwards with a blade. Does anyone know if this can be fixed without draining all the transmission fluid out?

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is a NO. That shaft only goes in there half way and then the one from the other side is tied to it. This piece is tied to the draft spring. You will need to either take the hydraulic unit off or the PTO and maybe both before you are finished. I would also change both sides as well as the bearings. More questions? J.

Thank you for the reply. This is my first farm tractor so I"m very new to these machines - I"ve had it two years now and this is the first repair I am faced with. The engine was rebuilt, power steering was put on, and the tractor was repainted a few years before I bought it.

So as I understand this repair, I need to drain the transmission fluid, remove the PTO assembly, and then remove the two shafts connected to the draft mechanism. Then comes the seals and bearings.

As for removing the PTO, can I do this myself, or do I need another set of hands for extra manpower? Can the PTO and clutch all come off as one assembly?
