Hi folks,
I'm working on a magazine article about those big Oliver 2255s. I'd like to talk to some 2255 owners via email about their experiences with it. What they liked about it, disliked, etc.

Please drop me a line at [email protected]

Thanks!

I like the fact that mine will drive itself, straight line or contour, with the aid of a laptop computer. I have 4 of the big 55 series MM/Oliver's. I guess I would say the 3150 is whimpy on the lower RPM torque, at least compared to the sister 585 6 cylinder. But I definitely like the smooth purr of the ole V-8 Cat's. Dislike the way Cat governor does not hold it RPM's very well, I have a feeling the V pumps on the 3208 might hold better than that of the early inline 3150's. My 3408's Gov hold and trust me they have lots of torque. I was very disapointed first time I hooked onto the OL 2255, did not take me long to take hood off and tweek the power screw. The little v-8 are definitely more of a throw away engine. I tore 4 engines down to find a good block. I bought my 2255 with a rod out. I kind of have the itch for V-8 Kitty's
