Just thought I'd ask, we're a little over 1/2 done here. The rest was planted late so we gotta wait for either a frost or the cobs to dry down a little more, so it may be a couple weeks til we can resume.

I could always come down with my 1855 and the Fox and give you a hand....

Almost done. We are waiting on some of the corn to dry down a little and we have one more small silo to fill. Corn is crazy this year, we will almost have the combine in the field before the last of the chopping is done. Some fields are drying fast and others are not. Kinda weird.

Looks like you are getting along good with yours. I hate to tell you, we were chopping in 2nd Over with the 1850 Cummins through most all of our corn, only had to go to 2nd Direct and then to Under in one field when the corn was taller than the wagons..... That is what 150 HP of Cummins power do for it.....

Love the black smoke, keep choppin....

I'd keep up for the most part then... I was in 2nd over most of the day too. The stuff pictured was on the short side of the feild. I only had to drop to 2nd direct/under when I was in the heavy green stuff that was filled in later when some didn't come up, and that stuff got up to the canopy...

Our early planted corn just plain sucked. Imediataly after we got i tin, we got 2 weeks of cold/wet weather so it took 3 weeks for it to make it up, then we had bare spots like crazy. Our late planting looks great, but it still isn't quite dented yet and we'll probably get frost in the next week or 2. Those I may have to keep it in 2nd under. 105 HP aint bad either- definately a step up from our 1755 on the front...

There are some times I have to drop it to 1st if the corn is over the top of our Gehl wagon, but that ain't gonna happen this year...

Our neighbors always chop with a 2-135 on the front of a older gehl in rough shape, and while they can go faster the quality just isn't the same as what we can get with the old Fox. We bought fomr them a few years ago and we (mainly I) drove them crazy because I wanted the husks to be cut finer, but they already had the knives adjusted and a screen in.... We havn't used a screen yet in the 4-5 years we've run the 3000!

Now they're 135 is sitting without an engine, so they'll hafta use they're 2-100 - Pretty sure I could lap that thing...
