Anybody familiar with the fuel system on a 453 detroit in a 1950. I need to replace the injectors on mine. I know I need to pull the valve cover off to get to them but I need a little more information to know what I"m up against. Thanks for any advice.

You don't have to remove the rack if you push the injector to full fuel .

Thanks for the reply. Thats the same thing the Detroit dealer told me. I just wanted more insight on what is involved. It sounds easy enough.

Thanks, S.D.

Make darn sure you don't have a leak in those lines when you reassemble it. There is continous fuel flow through that head.

Remove the rack tube and lines to the injectors, take the 2 bolts loose that hold the rockers fold the rockers back take out the bolt that clamps the injector and lift it out.
