I have an oliver 1600 the 3 point will go up and down if there is no weight on it at wide open throttle only. when i put my plow on it it will go down but won't lift unless i use another tractor to left it up. It will hold it up but not lift it. Is there a way to adjust the pressure to the lift amrs or do you know what the problem could be.

Is your hydraulic oil level up to full?

On the right side of housing there is a 1/2 bolt that dumps pressure to the three point hitch. It is about half way back on the right side above the platform. It needs to be screwed in for the three point to work. It is screwed out for single acting remote cyliner to remove back pressure on the cylinder.

First of all find or buy or borrow a pressure gauge that goes to at least 2000 PSi. Find an extra male couple end and attach the gauge to the coupler. Plug the coupler in and with the engine say running at a 1000 RPM and then at rated engine speed (1900) see what pressure reading shows on the gauge when you move the handle for that set of remote outlets. Then get back with us. Is this an early or late 1600 (need serial number) and how hard does it steer. Questions? J.

I have a smaller tractor, a Super 55 and I had the same thing happen to me. I had a valve stuck in the external hydraulics, so all of the fluid was pushing through the relief valve, which wasnt enough pressure. I tore my hydraulics apart, cleaned everything put it back together and got my lift back. Unfortunetly I think it ruined something internally, but the lift works now. Someday I will tear into mine inside.
