I have a line on what I think is a 1953 cockshutt 30 for a restoration project, as I am mostly into Farmalls, I am asking for advice before I make offer.

Runs but needs a water pump, tin is fair to good, no paint all rust. Rear tires good, fronts don"t seem to belong and are poor.

I am considering offering somewhere around $2000, I do not want to short change the man, so I want to make sure that I am offering a fair price.

There was a 30 near Glenwood City, WI. for sale. Only wanted 1500 with a loader. Don't if he ever sold it or not.

If it has complete 3-point,that makes it worth extra and wide fronts bring a little more but from what you described no way is it a $2,000 tractor. There was a lot of 30's made and a lot are still around. You can find very nice complete 30's already finshed for that price up to 3,000. Sounds to me like a 500 to 700 tractor and that depends on how well it runs, how good the transmission, rearend, and wheels ect are. I wish they carried a higher value because I have 5 for parts and two complete along with my other tractors. Good luck and they are a tough little tractor.

I just tried to sell one, not a total restoration
whatever that is, $2300 invested, couldn't get $1700 for it.
