My 1855 has an engine problem - probably a rod though I haven't pulled the pan yet. I plan to rebuild it and would love to put it in my 1755 and sell the 283 gas in the 1755. What would it take to buy and install a 5.9 in the 1855? Would want to do it this winter.

There are a couple of ways to approach a cummins repower. The easiest and cleanest is to find an 1850 diesel bath tub frame and bolt it on. The 5.9 will sit right in this frame with no modifications. If you choose to keep your frame you will have to cut the engine mounts out and also enlarge the hole for the oil pan to protrude the frame. You will have to locate the rear half of the bellhousing from a 1850 diesel to adapt to your hydraul shift. Also the clutch and flywheel assembly from a white 140 will bolt right in. I have done several of these conversions. Any further questions call 563-593-1100
