Working on this old 60 that has been sitting. I have a question about the magneto switch wiring on the dash. The owners manual only shows one wire running directly from the switch to the mag. The switch on mine has a second wire (just hanging loose), I am guessing that it is a ground. Anybody know?

Some one probably replaced that switch at one time. Most of the old mag grounding switches had an internal ground in them so they only had one wire. So yes the 2nd wire is probably the ground.

That was quick. Thanks Old. I am hoping to try to pop this old 60 off sometime this week. Has not ran for 30+ years.

If I where you I would put some tranny fluid in each cylinder and let it sit there a day or 2. Doing that will help free up the rings because they are probably stuck and also lube the cylinders. That way your not doing a dry start which can be hard on the engine
