Hello, I got an email from someone regarding what looks to be a Super 55 industrial, or maybe a 550, I can't see the front end clear enough in the pic to tell. He needs information on the front hydraulic pump, the specs, so he can replace it. He was told from a hydraulics shop that the only rebuild would be change the o-ring. What type of pumps were these, gear type? It is a Cesna pump. I can't find anything on the front end pump in my manual.

Hi. I am the owner of the tractor being referred to. The pump I'd like to replace is a Cessna. The serial number is k20644-1CEH. I found out that the S55 is working a closed center type system.

I found a replacement but I'm not sure if I want to spend $1100.00 (can) to purchase. So I'm still searching for a replacement. Also the area is indeed just outside of Merritt, BC :)
Thanks in advance.

I got a new pump from Nothern tool & Eqpt. 800 533 6645.Freeman parts book lists pump as #17003. parts manual also lists oliver 55,550 Md 4660.Hop this helps I might be able to get more info off pump. You caught me by luck!.It is a Super 55. First of all on the mounting flange of the pump will be the Cessna model. See if you can find that. I am a little surprised at the hydraulic shop. If you take the pump apart I have a formula that will spec out the pump (GPM's). My advice to you is. If it cost more than 60% of a new pump replace it with a new one. Cessna isn ow part of the Eaton fluid power group, but I myself would probably go with a brand I can get local service on. I would also flush the system including all cylinders, steam clean the reservoir and go with a more modern fluid and change the filter frequently and have the fluid sent in to a lab to see how clean it is. You will never get rid of all the contamination, so get rid of what is killing the system. Questions?

Thanks John, I will pass on the information to the fellow who owns the tractor. One more question. In the newer tops on the transmission case with the hydraulic filter in the front, is that a WIX filter also? I don't have it in my older parts book.

Yeah, not sure where that picture is taken. The fellow who owns says it is in Merrit, BC, but that looks a little too green for Merit. Merit is on the rain shadow side of the mountains about 3 hours from Vancouver. Picture could have been taken at spirng time though.
