Does anyone know about how many Olivers will be at the Dover Steam Show? This will be my first time there and I just wanted a idea of this show"s size. Thanks.

The show is in Dover Ohio at the Tuscarawas County Fair Grounds. The zip code is 44622. I can get you exact directions if you need them. Let me know and I'll email them to you. I live about 10 miles from the where the show is going to be and know the town well. I'll be helping to set up the show Aug. 13th so if anyone has some specific questions then I can ask for you.

Marc is right, you never know till you get there. I"ve attended every HPOCA summer show since 2002 and the Oliver numbers usually run between 200 and 400. I think location has a lot to do with the number on Olivers that show up. I was told that the last time the show was in Ohio there were over 500 Olivers.

No, you never know till the show is on. This is the HPOCA National Summer Show. Last year at our National Summer Show in Baraboo Wisconsin there were supposed to have been over 400 Olivers there. Last year for the show gasoline was around $2.70 per gallon. With a little more tinkering on the price by the oil companies, by next week gasoline should easily be over $3.00 per gallon. Wonder if that would have any bearing on how many Olivers get there or how many spectators come through the gate. Something to think about.

Hopefully there are enough people out the that can afford to absorb that price increase and we will still have a show as good as last year.

local shows have been averaging about 1/2 of the crowd of last summer (pre hurricanes)

and a fuel company executive today on NPR radio said he estimated that with no further interuptions of production $3.35-3.40 would be all the higher it goes for now...
