Hi,
I hope some one out there can tell me what batteries I need to put back in my 1365 oliver. I bought the tractor second hand the tractor is in real good shape. But it is hard to get started if I use my jump box it starts right up. When I bought the tractor it had one 12 volt battery in it. But I found out that it takes two but can't find out what size batteries it takes.

The symptoms you describe (not enough crank with one battery, just fine with two) indicate a tired battery or perhaps just a car battery. Any farm store should have a DIESEL-rated battery (Battery Group 31HD; high 'reserve minutes' and built to withstand much more vibration) for your tractor and won't cost much more than a good car battery (high 'cold cranking amps').

The 1365 is a great tractor. One of the most reliable Olivers. One thing though is the starters were not great at all. Drag real bad. It's best to replace the original style starter with a new style.....same as used on the white 2-60. You will notice a world of difference in cranking. As for a battery, something with 1000-1100 cold cranking amps have been very good for us.

Hello. I have only one 12v battery in both of mine. They both start good as cold as it gets here in Northeast Ohio in the winter. I just have the highest cranking amp battery that Autozone had in them.... Great little tractors, you will love it... Marc
