I'm interested in receiving some information on an Oliver Grainmaster Combine, Model 33--specifically the model year and value. If anyone has any information please let me know. Thanks.

My father bought a 33 in 1952 for I believe $5200. Or at least I know it was close to that.

And John, it had the variable drive but I don't know what it was called. It was basically a ball with fins set between the motor and transmission with a mechanical linkage to change it.

It was sold in 1963 when the 25 was bought. I just barely remember that machine.

The unloading auger did not swing back for transport and storage as it did on the Model 35 and later. Some folks made their own hinge. Pretty good machine in it's time.

The model 33 was Olivers first self propelled combine. They were built from about 1950 to 1955, when it was replaced by the model 35. Both machines were very similar.

Both machines used a continental 226 cubic inch 6 cylinder engine, and 6 speed transmission, and weighed about 8300 lbs. with a 12 foot header.

The model 33 had band brakes and gas engine only. The 35 had disk brakes and the later ones had a Diesel engine as a option.

Back in the 50's, they were good combines.

As to a price it's anybodys guess.

I also think the first 5 or 6 of the model 33 machines were all purchased by Brady farms In Paulding County Ohio. The also had Oliver chilled plow tractor #6.

The 33 used a transmission from a 66 tractor. The 35 and the 40 used the transmission from an 88. I don't remember if the 33 had the optional vari-draulic drive or that came with the later ones. We used to have one of those varidraulic drives laying in the junk.
