I've seen them with red wheels,I've seen them with red centers and silver rims and I've seen a lot more of them with green wheels. What is correct and for what years in the "supers"? Also, I havn't seen any "supers" with "full" side shields so can I assume they all came with the partials originally? Son-in-law is shopping for Super 77,just trying to get him some info.Maybe he has already got rest. manuals that tell this but I just thought I would ask on here too. Anything else he needs to really watch out for on these before buying would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance.

It took me 5 years to find the one I have then another year to find the wide front end that is under my S88. The nice thing about my S88 was from what we can tell it had a mounted corn picker on it most of its life so it has pretty low hours for its age.

third party image

Here is the image that "OLD" refered to on the Super series. They were all painted this way until the last year of production (1957). Beginning in December of 56' they were changed to the red wheels. The 57' tractors also had "OLIVER" in raised letters in the fenders, key start and an enlarged opening in the hood in the battery area to name a few of the changes. All of the super series had the open engine as shown. Note: if the tractor had power adjust rear wheels, the wheel center was painted the color to match the year of production and rims and shift rails were painted silver.

Take a look in my web site and you will see a 1955 Super 88 that is painted as it would have been when new. Before I painted it a couple years ago I took the time to ask the same questions and some one sent me a picture from a sales thing from 1955. And yes the supers had semi open sides on the front most of the engine. For that matter send me and e-mail and I'll send you that piture form the sales thing I still have it. I think
