Anyone know where I can locate a Fuel Pump for a 1964 1650D. This is the little mechanical fuel pump like a car (Lift pump, primper pump) and not the main injector pump.

The later model 55 series didn't use a lift pump, so you could just get rid of it and bypass it to run without the pump.

Don,
That trick was only supposed to work with the 283 diesel in the 1655 tractors. I think Oliver decided that the 1650 tractors still need that pump, but I am not 100% sure. I suppose you could easily try a gravity feed on the main fuel pump and see if it would hold prime or not. If it did, I feel sure the cover plate from a 1655 would bolt up to the 1650. Be worth a try in my book.

You can still get that pump new from AgCo. I am not sure if it crosses over to any pump that Napa or carquest would have or not.

My motto: If it breaks, modify it.....

It may have problems once the tank starts running low, but our late model 1855 doesn"t have a lift pump either. If anything you may need the different clamp on fuel filter if the other 2 round ones restrict the flow too much.

I replaced the pump on our 1755 once and on our Massey 285 several times, I think they run right around $40-50 if I remember right.... I think I would have tried without the pump if I would have known on the 1755.

Yeah, none of the cummins engines run lift pumps either and the 2150 has fender fuel tanks and no lift pump, so I think I would try it on a 1650 with no lift pump and see what happens. I think lift fuel pumps are over rated on tractors like the Olivers that have overhead fuel tanks and they make the fuel system a lot more complex.

The simpler the better.

The later model 1650's and 55 series used the direct injection system versus this guys tractor's indirect system. To me the pump is valuable when bleeding the system after changing the fuel filters.

With a full tank it's not hard at all to bleed. the system. I just did our 1855 with an empty tank after I had to take it out to get behind it. It was a little slower, but it really wasn't bad at all.

I can't say anything about the direct vs. indirect systems needing the lift pump, but if it gets to the injection pump in one, I'd think it'd get to the other too.

AGCO dealer should be able to get you that part. If that's not handy for you call Jerry at Ag Parts First at 1-866-246-9720 and he will ship it to your door.
