Sounds like the injection pump.

Sorry about that it is diesel.. I am beginning to believe the valves are too tight and the injector pump needs work... Thank you, Marc

If you find out it is the pump then the plunger is worn in the hydraulic head. That is one reason they put another fuel filter on the Supers . If it was me and it only has the single LS filter assembly I would also add one of those square Roosa maters on behind the engine if it is a "show tractor". FYI. Last time I priced a hydraulic head assembly as in plunger and head they are matched $800.00. Questions?

Does the starter spin the engine over OK? If so,I'd say the lifters are set too tight.~brad

Gas or diesel?? If gas it could be the timing, or carb problems. Shoot most of the time I can't get my hand off the starter button fast enough on my S88 weather its hot or cold and that includes when its 32 out. Picture of it in the web page

I assume it's gas. If so, I would check the coil.
