Looking for a crankshaft for an Oliver 1250. The gentleman who owns the tractor was told by a local mechanic that the crank is bad and that he should just junk the tractor because it is impossible to find parts for it. I'd like to help this man keep this tractor in use, if we can find the necessary parts to repair it. If anyone out there knows of a source for 1250 engine parts, I would really appreciate your assistance. While I am a dyed in the wool N-series Ford man, I just can't stand to see old iron end up as some Chinese rifle barrel and I've always had a soft spot in my heart for old Olivers. Thanks in advance.

1350 Cockshutt is a Moline, not even close. Is your old crank broke?

The owner of the 1250 had taken it to a shade tree mechanic who tore it down and told him that the crank was shot. The engine had apparently spun a main bearing, scoring the crank. He was told that the crank could not be ground because it was hollow. The owner has been looking for a new/used crank for awhile without success and came to me to see if I could assist him in getting his tractor running again. Other than the spun bearing and damage to the crank, the tractor is in great shape. Apparently, there were very few 1250's made and parts are scarce. I'm just not willing to give up on finding a crank and getting this fine old machine back in the field. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your reply.
