I JUST BOUGHT A OLIVER 770 SERIAL# 131658. I THINK THAT MAKES IT A 1963. IT HAS ROUND FENDERS AND IS IN GREAT CONDITION EXCEPT THE ENGINE IS LOCKED UP! THE MAN THAT SOLD IT JUST WANTED TO GET IT OUT OF HIS YARD, SAID THE WIFE WANTED IT GONE. SOLD IT TO ME FOR $100. I FIGURED I COULD GET THAT IN SCRAP PRICE FOR IT. SHEETMETAL IS STRAIGHT AND IT IS COMPLETE. AND AMAZINGLY VERY LITTLE RUST ANYWHERE. I HAVE THE THE ENGINE TORN DOWN WITH SOME DIESEL FUEL SOAKING THE CYLINDERS TRYING TO FREE THEM UP. I REALLY WANT TO GET THIS THING RUNNING. I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY HAD SLEEVES IN THE CYLINDERS..VERY COOL! I AM HOPING I CAN SALVAGE THE PISTONS AND JUST GET NEW SLEEVES AND RINGS. I HAVE BECOME ADDICTED OVERNIGHT. I HAVE BEEN READING EVERYTHING I CAN ON OLIVER TRACTORS. I AM NEW TO THEM BUT I UNDERSTAND THEY WERE SOME OF THE BEST TRACTORS EVER BUILT. CAN YOU GUYS PROVIDE ME WITH GOOD PARTS SUPPLIERS, I HAVE GOT KORVES WEB SITE ALREADY, ANY OTHERS? AND I WELCOME ANY AND ALL COMMENTS, SUGGESTION AND QUESTIONS. THANKS CHRIS

try using coke syrup. we did it with a jd D that had the stack opened to the elements for 15-20 yrs. it popped free and then started and has run since.

THANKS FOR THE TIPS GUYS, STILL WORKING ON FREEING THE ENGINE. I GOT 1 PISTON OUT YESTERDAY AND ANOTHER MOVING. PISTONS 3,4,5 AND 6 ARE THE TOUGH ONES. I'LL TRY TRANNY FLUID TONIGHT. CHRIS

You will have better luck useing tranny fluid to free it up then diesel. Also if you have the head off you can try this but only out side and way from other things that burn. Fill the cylinder up 3/4 of the way with tranny fluid after getting the diesel out, then add a tablespoon of gas the each cylinder and lite it up and let it burn out, do that 2 maybe 3 times till almost all of the fluid is burned away and then give the starter a try. I have 4-7 tractors that I picked up locked up and only one did I have to pull the head to get unlocked and I used tranny fluid in all of them and use most of them off and on all the time.

I never do it at night and so far only done it twice , one time if worked and once it didn't. But I have had very very good luck with the tranny fluid. So far the tranny fluid has worked on more then 10 tractors with locked up engine and only one it didn't work and the burning of the fluid also didn't work.

MAIBACH/,>Link and any AGCO dealer should be able to get some parts for you too. Hope you get that engine free, you almost got the whole tractor "free". Of course they get you addicted then the next tractor you buy is more $$$$, simply shameless. : P
