Guy down here used to pull an 88. He had it stroked a half inch. If you are thinking 3-7/8, does M & W still have a 3-15/16 gas kit for an 1800? I also repaired a head for an 88 a long time ago. He also showed me the sleeves which were bored to 4 inch and he used John Deere Pistons. Now those sleeves were thin! I have also seen steel slevess for a little extra strength. How about a little other work? I looked at a 4.250 bore 88 the other year, half inch stroke would make it a 339. Your 310 sleeve will fit in the hole but they are longer so only one o-ring will catch I have seen it done. What have you done to the head, manifold and cam?

To clarify things, the 4 1/4" bore with a stoke stroke gives 340 cubes. A 1/2" stroke (4 1/2") with a 4" borewill give 339 cubes. A bore of 4 1/4" with a 4 1/2" stroke gives 382 cubes.

A set of 3 15/16" piston and sleeve set for which 1800 series engine (A, B or C) works? I"ve heard this before but do not know which set works or isn"t there a difference?

Sorry for the math confusion. I was thinking of the 339 Hercules which is a 4 x 4-1/2. I was thinking it was 4-1/4 X 4.5. Oh well next time I guess do the math.
