Sorry for the stupid question, but i have read past posts and looks like the trans fluid is different than the 3pt fluid. i see where to put the trans fluid in next to the shuttle, but where does the 3pt fluid go in?

most of my tractors the belly pump uses trans fluid to run, its all one resivour.

so what type gear oil? gl1, gl5?

and how much of each in quarts?

That post disturbs me a little. Have you ever checked the oil level for the three point? Add the oil through the dipstick opening. I am stalling since you have a shuttle transmission. The normal 550 would use 80W-90 gear oil and a little less than five gallon. Check plug is by the PTO. Check plug is a pipe plug. I don't know if the shuttle takes the same amount as a 6 speed 550. Don't forget there is probaly more than one drain plug. Right now I am trying to remember what the differences are between the 2 gear oils. Hope this helps somewhat. J.

ya not my tractor, did some work on it and notice the tranny was loud and noisy, open the filler plug and no oil on the gears, just some water. suggested to the guy who owns it to drain and put oil in, will use hydrotrans fluid unless it starts leaking all over
