I was wondering if anyone has any tricks for relieving the pressure from hydraulic lines. I have a gresen valve to operate my loader (power beyond) and two sets of remotes for implements. Un-hooking is never an issue but there is always pressure in the lines that prevent me from easily hooking up either my loader or implements. Whenever I un-hook, i ALWAYS lower the loader or implements all the way first to try and relieve as much pressure as possible. Is there a in-line pressure relief value I can install? Right now, I have to get a rag, hammer, and screw driver to manually tap on the ball to relieve the pressure. This is very messy and I can"t help but think there is an easier way to do this. Thank you.

Steve:

I'd recommend that you "bite the bullet" and pay for a set of the new pioneer couplings that can be hooked up with pressure on the hoses. They are pretty expensive, but if you use the hydraulic system very much they are worth it My brother has a 1950T with valves on the hoses just before the couplings which helps with the tractor side, but if you have pressure on the cylinder side you can still have trouble hooking up.

Now the ideal solution would be to buy a tractor for everything that requires hydraulics. :=) Then you'd never have to mess with them!

Thank you for the suggestion. I knew there had to be a solution.....I'll go to tractor supply and see if they have these couplings that can be hooked up under pressure. I hope they are not too expensive, I need 8 sets.....Four for the loader and 4 more for my dual remotes.... Again, thank you.
