My tractor is overheating with only marginal work. I'm using a 6 ft. bush-hog. I'm mowing 2 ft. weeds. I've replaced the thermostat and hoses. The radiator is flushed, clean and working. I'm using 50/50 anti-freeze / water. The water is coming out of the overflow tube next to the radiator cap. Could my radiator cap be bad? The water is very hot but my be within normal operating temp. My temp guage doesn't work. I will be getting another radiator cap, however, I would love to hear other thoughts.

Thanks, Hot In Dallas

Ideas/thoughts?
Pressure cap, head gasket, bad radiator, loose fan drive belt, engine block solid with deposits, retarded timing, lean mixture, cracked head, vacuum advance disconnected allowing air into manifold, clogged radiator matrix, water pump, cooling system overfilled, manifold leak. Want anymore?; "cos I"m runnin" out of ideas!
Regards, RAB

Let me guess you flushed it with the parts store stuff, right??? If you did you spent $$ that wasn't worth it in my book. BTDT and lost. Heres what I would do. DRain the system, then fill with vinagar, 100% then run it till hot. Let it cool a few hours and then drain it. Then rig up a back flush to the engien block drain so you can hook a garden hose on and hook it up turn it on and then goo have a 6 pack. or go watch about 2-3 hours of stargate etc. Then drain/turn off the hose and refill with anti freezre. My 77 would over heat that way til I did that and it hasn'y gotten over 190 since I did that no matter what I pull or do with it
