$8k for broke 2255?

Did you see the 2255 in the photo ads? Is it me or is $8k for a tractor with 3speed problems a bit steep?

Don"t get me wrong, I think they are great tractors, and this one appears to have potential. But knowing what has to be done to get that 3 speed out, it just seems about $2k too high.

Or has the market finally gone up so much that I might as well go back to 69 Chevelles"s?

It does seem they go for a lot. I got in a few years too late and had to pay a decent amount for mine, but the guts all worked and had AC at least. I just saw the ugliest one I"ve ever seen go for $6500 the other day. WOW. I also saw a 2255 FWA with roll bar/canopy for $18,000! It"s still for sale if you got to have it. How much is a 1600 LP High crop in fully restored shape?(maybe 1650, shoot I can"t remember). I think they wanted $16k.

Kinda goes with supply and demand. Right now alot of those V-8's are being used for pullers so the price will go up. When all of that settles down and the fad fades they will come back down. Heck I have seen ragged 88's priced for close to or over 2K, Those will not be seen coming to my house I can tell you.

As for the LP high Crop, email Sherry or someone on the HPOCA and get an idea of how many were built and how many are left. I am figuring not many. I mean heck look what a '57 Chevy sells for and they probably made almost as many of them as they did H farmalls or B John Deeres....
