88 band brake conversion

i have been working on the brakes of my pulling tractor and we have been having trouble finding parts for it. we found out that it is a field conversion for disk brakes. i was wondering if any of you have heard of this?

There was a service bulletin that explained all that stuff and I would need to look again to see what all was mentioned. As for Dave and his 53 model and it having the field conversion he must have a very early one. I would guess or it has been converted. Dave, if you are going by the fact of the spindle extensions on the bull pinons those were done at Charles City. If I remember correctly the disks the brake linings go on are different in the number of splines on them. I can recall 2 customers who had models 88 tractors that way and they were both that way when they were new. On some of them you (early ones I think you need a different rear frame.)

I have a 53 Oliver 88 that has the field conversion on it . I bought it that way. The parts
to do it are probrobly not available any more.
