Johnnie T--Congratulations on your fine purchase.
If it has the original engine, a 1655 diesel will have a 283 cu in engine. One thing that kinda surprised me when I overhauled mine was that the casting number for a 283 is the same as for a 310. The dipstick for the o/u would probably be available from AGCO, but would no doubt be high priced. You will like that tractor!!

The 1655 sounds like a big improvement over the hybrid 1800 to me. call Jerry at 1-866-246-9720 for dipstick part.

Yes, it is the 283 direct injection Oliver diesel. A dipstick for the O/U should be an easy find in a salvage yard. Nice purchase; the 1655 is an outstanding tractor.

I have a 1970 oliver 1655 cab tractor. I have just recently painted the tractor with the original Oliver Green. Everything works, as a matter of fact we used it last hay season to pull the baler. I was wanting to know where to go to find out how much this tractor would be worth.
