Folks, can anyone tell me the differences (if any)between a gas and propane engine from an 880.
Does one have more compression and if so was it by piston or head changes? Thanks Y'all, the Dude

Dude, I have gone through the parts books on the fleetline, Supers, and the three digit numbered tractors. The answer to your questions are NO.

The L.P.Gas tractors had different fuel tanks, sheet metal, and carbureter. They also had other added equipment to make the system work correctly, but the block, heads, manifold and pistons were the same as the gas engines. As a matter of fact, one of the Oliver L.P. Gas advertising brochure states: you could convert from one to the other, all you needed was the equipment.

Starting with the 1600 and 1800's, Oliver used different heads, etc. for L.P. Gas.

Your welcome.
