It is a Super 77. It is a 1955 model. It has a slow speed ring & pinon. How is that for a start?

Drop the last 3 digits off the serial number and you'll be able to match it up. The last 3 numbers represent the gearing in the tractor.

If you look under serial numbers on the left side menu on this page search Oliver super 77 and this is what you get:

Oliver Wheel Tractors Model 77 Super Year Starting Serial Number 1954 8303 1955 10001 1956 38500 1957 44167 1958 56917

That because your number lands after the 1955 year starting serial number of -10001 and before the 1956 year starting number of -38500 . It might have been clearer if he had put a dash between the year and the serial number . But that's what it is .

i also forgot to say that on the axel it says rowcrop, and on the side paneling it says super 77, maybe the panels were replaced at sometime, but its confusing me.

Your panels should say Super 77. That is what the tractor is. On the axle housing. That casting was used on the 77, Super 77 and 770 Rowcrop tractors so it should say Rowcrop. More questions? J.
