I forgot to ask you one thing and tell you another item. Are both oil filters "spin-on" and If you have the later B or C engine you should have a canster type filter and one fuel filter on that side of the engine. When you take it apart let me know what the numbers on the head gasket. Thanks. J.

You are going to make me think a little bit and do some checking. Unless it rains both this afternoon and tomorrow my time is limited this week. The A series and later B & C engines do not use the same head gaskets. They have different coolant holes in the block and head. Your 157 085 & 86 numbers tell me if you have an A series engine it is a replacement block and head. How can I contact you?

Johnnie T,
You wrote:

Depends. Is this Perkins or Waukesha. With a man who "doesn"t know" and "overhauls" an engine, I would be wondering what else it might be.
Head gasket improperly fitted
Wrong or damaged head gasket
Cracked head
Cracked block
Warped head
Incorrect liner protrusion
Even a warped deck
I may not be surprised if it were more than one of the above, but you may have an honest seller there.
Could also be a problem with liner seals as well. Who knows?
Hope you paid a commensurate purchase price, as it could be a more expensive job than just a head gasket.
