My 1850 has no hydraulic pressure at the remotes nor the 3 point. Power steering works good. Any idea's?

The low idol hydraulic remotes and PTO connect/disconnects work on running later model 1850"s. The early 1850"s require shutting off engine for remote hydraulics and PTO connects/disconnects.

By all means check the priority valve. Have had it stick once. Do believe when all other hydraulics fail, priority will maintain steering even under low pressures. Likely for safety reason.

In the last year weve had to replace, one relief valve seat, and two hydraulic pumps, one quitting the other weakening and replaced rather than loose use of tractor midseason. Its a good idea to check hydraulic pressures making any repairs or adjustments adding or subtracting relief valve shims.

Check the priority valve located on the left side of the unit. Most likly stuck. It happened on the 1950-T all the time. Good luck.

Donovan, where you at? in reply to lEOB, 05-12-2006 15:50:42
making no assumtions I need to ask...are you looking for pressure at low idle? I believe that shuts down the pressure so you can hook up and unplug lines. As soon as you kick up the idle a bit the pressure comes back. I know if I forget to pull it all the way down I can even release my lines because of the pressure. I also believe the power steering and rear hydro work off different pumps but may share the same supply tank. Where is Donovan when you need him?

Not sure about the 1850's but i've always had pressure on the tractors(1600, 1755, and 1855) at idle. I'm not much of an expert on hydraulics by any means. I'm still learning about them myself. Gonna test out a Moco on the 1855 because it close to the machine we're looking at, and it's got single acting lift and it's a hydra swing so I need both remotes.
It's a Hesston 1014+2 14 ft, and it looks pretty good.

Our 1855 is at the weld shop because while going over the chisel plowing diagonally, I broke the weld that holds the wishbone support to the axel tube. I wish it had the older front axel that has nuts on it like our 1755. They put a nice 1/2" gusset plate underneath it and welded it solid after grinding out the old weld. The axel snapped off and folded under the tractor on the previous owner. It was welded back on but I've got it stressed with all the weight and abuse it goes through in the feild.

hows it going with you?
