Oliver 60 Standard Question

I have owned three different Oliver 60 Standard tractors over the years and still have two. My oldest is a 1944 model that my Dad bought for me when I was a year old in 1960. My question has to do with the raised lettering on the axle housings. My 1944 has "Oliver" on the left housing and "Standard" on the right housing. The other two tractors were later models and both had "Oliver" on both the left and right housings. Is there some reason for this difference? Did it change at a particular year or did Oliver just put on whatever was around at the time? Just curious if anyone has any ideas? Thanks

I have all of the versions of the model 60 tractors. The Cockshutt is a 1944 and has "COCKSHUTT" on one side and "STANDARD" on the other side of the axle housing. Both of my Olivers are 1947s. They have "OLIVER" on sides of the axle housings. I think that they put Oliver on both sides of the housings when they started to build the Industrial, thus they could use the same housing on both versions.

That is one great looking set of tractors! I believe I saw these at the National Oliver Show in Penfield, IL a few years ago, if I am not mistaken. If it works, I am enclosing a picture of the 1944 Oliver along with my 1959 John Deere 435 Diesel I use to mow the lawn. Thanks for the information!

There was a change in the axles, I am not sure of the date, but I believe that it was late 1944 or early 1945 that the axles were changed from "Oliver Standard" to "Oliver Oliver".
