Having trouble with Hydraulics on a 1650. The three-point works, but when trying to use one of the remotes, and pulling the lever it makes an awful grinding noise and nothing happens.

Your 2-85 is a closed center hydraulic system and it runs one way cylinders with no adjustments needing to be made. Your 1650 is open center and two adjustments need to be made for it to work correctly with single acting cylinders. Did you make any adjustments? Also one of these is to back out the bypass screw, once you back out the bypass screw, the three point will not function. Questions send me a phone number or U S mail address. Questions? J.

what are the two adjustments and could you help me with the location of the bypass screw? I would send you my personal information but i'd rather not have it blatantly on any website. send me an email!

I might need a little more information, but I suspect problems with your couplers or the capacity of the cylinder is being exceeded and the growling noise is the relief valve. How about a better explanation.

well, we were having trouble getting the coupler coupled. The implement was a woods batwing mower. . .and we were able to get it to lower but not raise. the cylinder was vented so it didn't require any hydraulic force to lower it, but it wouldn't lift it at all and when the valve was opened the pump would make a nasty noise that almost sounded like gears grinding at a high rpm not really a growl. Do you think the couplers weren't allowing the hydraulic fluid to pass through them and the pressure was forced back to the pump and the pressure relief valve insn't functioning properly? The same noise has occured when steering the tractor hard to either side. I don't know much about the hydraulic system on the tractor.

If this is a one way cylinder on your mower you need to also take the 3 point out of the system. Send me a phone number and I will help you. J.

well, the mower has two seperate functions hydraulicly operated; one to raise the wings and one to raise the deck, but they operate off of one remote. It's used on a White 2-85 and works correctly. Is there a difference in the hydraulic systems that would cause it not to work on the 1650?
