Hi,
I have a 770 with power booster...checked the dip stick attached to breather (close to power booster lever, etc (in front of seating area). What kind of oil does this take? Is this for both the power booster, transmission, and rear end? If not, where else do I need to check oil? (besides the engine).

If it doesn't have already, I was thinking of switching over to the oil hydraulic/trans oil that modern tractors use for trans, power steering, rear end, etc. Would this work? Where would I drain this oil at? Approx how much to fill up the system?

Thanks for you input. Reaver

I have hytran in our 880 and it seems to work o/k.
If I recall it takes a whole 5 gal pail. Just make sure you dump it in the right hole!

the dipstick you are describing is for the hydrualic system only. fill through the dipstick hole.drain plug is on lower left side of hydraulic housing, just forward of the left brake pedal, draining makes a mess all over the operator platform. to avoid mess some folks will plug in a male hyd. tip into the remote outlet with a hose running to a bucket, start the tractor, and move lever to pump oil out. stop tractor immediately after oil stops flowing. to check transmission oil you need to locate a level plug on the right side of the transmission housing, sort of below the right brake pedal. the transmission fill plug is directly in front of the gear shift lever. it may be covered with grease and grime.the transmission drain plugs are under the tractor. there is also a separate oil resevoir for the pto. the level plug is just to the right of pto shaft, and the fill plug is right under the seat, it doesnt hold much. If you get a manual it will recommend 10w30 oil for both transmission and pto. since you have a power booster transmission you will need to use 10w30 to make it operate properly. but I use 80w90 for the pto. hydraulic system uses standard hydraulic fluid.
