I have a 550 serial # 89006-519 and specification # 45-0035. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the year.. I think it is a 1960.. My carburetor needs a rebuild and I need to know which one to get the kit for. There are no numbers on the carburetor and I ordered one online but the gaskets were way too small. Thanks for any advice.

It is a 1960 model. No doubt they sent you a gasket set for an older model with the smaller engine. Personally that is why I don't buy items like that on line. J.

Where do you buy parts for the 550. I am having a hard time finding parts for my 60's 550 diesel. Preston of the Mojave

Do you have any idea what model of carb is on this year 550 or where I could find that out. I have looked on the carburetor and can not find any numbers.

Sandy, assuming you ase asking about a Marvel Schebler carburetor, the 550 used two.

TSX-775 With Oliver repair kit #103 072-AS / Schebler # 286=1252.

TSX-811 With Oliver repair kit #106 004 AS / Schebler # 286-1325.

Being as your tractor is a earlier one I would guess your carburetor is the TSX-775.

The carburetor repair kit that they sent you, most likely, is for a TSX-603. That caruretor was used on the Super 55's and the real early 550's.
