Lonnie,

Sounds like you've had some bad luck. Give me a call or shoot me an email. I can help steer you in the right direction for your head problems. The 12 port gas heads were relatively the same from the 1800-A (283) to the 310. The ports got larger on the 310 but the valve sizes stayed the same. In other words, both the intake and exhaust ports are too big from the factory, but with the right valve size they flow well and build power. Depending on what you need, I have an 1800A head here--the fire deck casting needs a little work, but the top plate is spotless. The 310 gas head has a lot of potential for high flow numbers. Thanks for the replies. All I need is to get it to run cause all it for is show. It dont need power cause it wont do any work so if any one has a cheap idea that would be great. Thanks, Lonnie

O. K. I am trying to learn something here. Where does a 310 two piece head come in on an 1800 A series tractor. NO 1800 A series had a 310 engine. Also A series heads are different castings than later B & C series heads. If you looked up the valve part number you find the old style valves and locks were replaced with the single groove style 40 years ago (or more) Put new valves in and do it right. Questions?

I have a 1960 1800-a wheatland serial number 111248-886 and I took the head off cuase of a leak and it is a 2 part head with a casting number H221802 wich I was told from a lot of people that is a early 310 deisel. The new valves are over $50 a valve and was looking for a cheaper way. The reman head I got today was junk so now I have no head and was wondering if a motor from any other oliver would bolt right in. Thanks

No 310 Diesels had 2 piece heads: I sent you an e-mail. Let me know if you got it.
