HELP:

I have an old Oliver 550 that I bought it last fall. Last week I had to split it to replace the clutch and some seals. This morning I finished it went out to test it. I started out in 3rd then shifted to 4th drove about 20ft then it “slipped” out of gear, I then tried to put it back but it was still in gear I then tried the other gears but nun of those work ether.

I opened the peephole and every thing looked fine. The clutch is engaging and des engaging. I can [with the tractor running and my foot off the clutch pedal] shift in and out of gears.

I am Stumped If anybody has any ideas please send them.

Sounds like the shifter has popped out of its slot and your moveing the shifter but not moveing the parts in the tranny that do the real shifting. You need to pull the cover and have a look see in there
