I have an 1800A with a Westendorf Loader. My loader operates via a Gresen valve inside my cab that was hooked up using the 'power beyond' feature. Ever since I bought the tractor I have had numerous leaks in my hydraulic system. Nothing that affected the operation, just made a mess. I've done the trouble-shooting one-by-one and have now replaced every hydraulic line and amost every coupling/fitting. Not all needed changing, but because I was into it and wanted everything to look new and fresh, I did it. I am down to one final leak. Actually it is more of a drip than a leak. On the right side of my seat, I have two levers that operate the remotes at the back of the tractor. These two levers are attached to a shaft that enters the hydraulic housing. My leak/drip appears to be coming from the shaft between the two levers that operate the remotes. Can someone tell me how this comes apart and what I can expect to see when I get it apart. I'm hoping it is a simple procedure and that all my problem is is a bad seal that I can call my AGCO (former Oliver) dealer to get. Any tricks or tips would be appreciated. Thank you.

I"m in the same job right now on my 1800, except that I already have the entire rock shaft housing off my tractor. I can"t quote you the entire procedure as I don"t have my IT manual in front of me, but the job does require removal of the fender.. cab? (for clearance reasons - to pull the shafts) and the hydroelectric switch pack (to remove the internal linkages).

If you still need help, post up and I"ll be happy to scan and email you the task from the IT shop manual.

Wait a minute, If I understand what you are saying you just need to take the seat off and the top lid not the complete hydraulic unit. You will also need to drain the unit down somewhat. Send me a phone number.

I was hoping that was all, just can't remember if pins will clear three point cylinder. Still, with cab it is going to be a bear.

Didn't really want to be the breaker of bad news, but the three point housing has to comme off to get to roll pins holding lever shafts to spools. Never fails to get one all dried up and this pesky drip shows up. I've thought about grinding levers off and rewelding them, but with cab it would even be worse. Sorry to break the news.
