Folks:

I tore into the Hydra-Drive from my 1800 yesterday. I have the access cover off and the shaft support bracket. I removed the oil seal (it was SHOT!) but I can not get the next plate off to access the bearing. Can any of you give me some advice on getting the next plate off of the unit?

Jim

I got it off, just needed some heat and convincing.

Now I can get into it since I received the overhaul kit from O'brien County IMplement.

what you need is a service manual, you will need to know the specs to to do a proper rebuild.. what was the problem to start with anyway.is it a two or three speed?

I have two service manuals, and I & T and an Oliver 1800 1900 Shop Manual!!!

I am servicing the Hydra-Drive since I have the engine completely removed from the tractor and the units seeps oil from botht he input and output shafts.

I did not have time last night to work on the unit, but in my thoughts I beleive the issue is the gasket. The dressing used on the gasket has sealed the two parts together. I will attempt to break the bond tonight.

There is an o-ring by the bearing, if this is the rear of trans. Counter shaft will have to be dropped down and moved to side to get everything removed.
