We have a 1951 66 row crop that we are starting to restore. The hood was cut out for a larger muffler and now we want to return it back to original. We got a replacement under the hood muffler that was supposed to work on the 66 and 77. When we went to put this one on, it didn't sit low enough, no matter which way it was turned, to allow the hood to sit down correctly. What I am asking is whether or not the 66 and 77 share the same muffler? We are also having fun trying to get the hood patch to fit correctly. Anyone have a 66 row crop hood available?

I'm restoring a 66 Std, I decided that it would be less expensive to take the hood to a body shop guy and have him repair it as to search for a good hood and then have to pay the shipping.
J. S. I'm surprised that you didn't have the muffler number L 452 on the tip of your tongue. My 66 had the muffler on top of the hood when I bought it because it was the 77 / 88 muffler.

Mr. Star. I was not sure and I had other things on my mind this morning. Thanks for the compliment though.

77 & 88 Models take the same muffler. The 66 muffler is not the same. I can check part number if needed
