I was at a dealer looking at an 1855(just for fun). I noticed the 1855 has a lift pump, but my 1755 doesnt. Does it have to do with the fuel filter system used? Mine has the square deere system, the 1855 has two spin on canisters.

It just the opposite for us, the 1755 has a lift pump and dual filters, the 1855 has no lift pump and a clamp on filter. The 1755 is an earlier model than our 1855. Im just guessing but I could be wrong, the switch was done when they also updated the engine in the 1855's. You would also notice the location of the key, pre-heat button and the fuel shut off cable have been moved off the main dash panel and put on the sides on the later models.

My 1755 has a lift pump and dual filters. But it's ran with it disconnected.

The early ones had the double filter set up. The square filter is also a Roosa Master item. Now you caught me off guard on the pump. I can not remember at the momemnt. Early 55 series also had the alternator with external regulator. J
