Any advice welcome. The valves have all been redone. It blows steady blue smoke --not in tufts. Have any of you ever worked with oil pressure pump? piston compression ? or breathers that would cause this besides needing complete overhaul? It has power
Thanks

Just some thoughts in addition to others.
Is the crankcase breather clear? If not any blow-by will push oil down the guides.
Is the air cleaner over-filled or with wrong oil if it is a wet cleaner?
Have the rings been interfered with?
If so have they been bedded in properly?
Could any of the rings be broken or stuck in their grooves?
Regards, RAB

Did you put new rings in the engine? if so did you stager the ring gaps and what did you use for lube on rings? If not your old rings will let oil suck by with a good valve job because of the tightness of the head. We use ATF. on new rings when we put race engines togather dont use type F or anything ford uses it has graphite in it and will wreck your motor.

Is this a gas or diesel? What all was done to the valves? Have you taken a cylinder leakdown test?

gas tractor valves reground and reseated with new valve giudes.. the works.
going to compression check tonight but an old timer told me to look in the IT manual on oil pressure testing on the motor. It did not smoke like this prior to fixing the valves
It is steady blue. Just curious to know if anybody else has ever looked the oil pressure adjustor located on the motor

Just remember a cylinder leakdown test will tell you more than a compression test. Also this does not happen all the time but I have seen engines with decent compression rings and no tension or plugged oil rings. Did you put valve stem seals on the valves while they were doing the head? Since you asked how much oil pressure do you have and how much flow do you have to the rocker arms?
