Cost of Overhaul Kit

Folks:

I have the Injector Pump and Injectors cleaned and rebuilt, the Head is finished with a complete valve job. Now I need to get an overhaul kit for the sleeves, piston, bearings and gaskets. I just priced one from the AGCO dealer... WOW!!!!! !!!!! ! They quoted me almost $1400 for a complete overhaul kit. Is this about the right price for a complete kit?

Maybe I should have stuck with an IH tractor!!

Jim, That sounds a bit high, but I guess it depends on the model Oliver you have. This site has an Engine Kits link where you can price rebuilt kits for Oliver tractors. For instance, I have an 1800 and a Super 55. The engine rebuild kit is $1166.00 for the 1800 and $858.00 for my Super 55. I"ve found that typically dealers charage a premium for their parts.
