Hello all, I have a 1973 Oliver 550. The exhaust seems very loud. I replaced the muffler, but it did not help. The exhaust pipe currently goes up on the left side of the hood. I am considering rerouting it down and under the rear axle so it exits behind the driver. I previously owner an 8n which had rear exhaust. Has anyone ever tried this? Any other suggestions on quieting this powerful beast down would be appreciated. Thanks

I used a piece of 8 foot flex pipe and brought it down from the muffler and under the clutch foot rest. A couple of brackets onto the foot rest keeps it solid and it works just fine. Good luck.

the diesel version of these tractors had an exhaust that ran underneath the tractor and came out behind the driver
