John, this weekend I was using the 1955 to feed some hay and I found out something interesting about this growl I am getting. When you are on flat ground and there is not much pressure on the drivetrain I get the growl on and off quite a bit, it is magnified a lot through the rattly old cab. But, when you are going up a hill and the engine is pulling harder on the drivetrain it gets quiet. When you are going downhill and the drivetrain is pushing against the engine, it is quiet. What could this mean?

Were always in the same gear or range? I think something is loose on the top shaft.

John, also, give me a few more tips on these subjects..... ....

-the pto that won't stop turning when you shut it off. It slows down, but doesn't stop unless you shut off the engine and restart. Once restarted it turns about a half a turn and you hear a click and it stops. Some say I need to adjust it? How? Where? The thing on the back where the lever conects to?

-the hyd oil getting into the tranny and diff. I was thinking about it and I remembered I did overfill it by quite a bit when I changed all of the fluids last year. Is it being overfull causing it to go into the tranny? I am going to drain the tranny and diff back down to the correct level and see if it fills up again?

Your input is appreciated, I am however about ready to get rid of this thing, it is more than I can handle almost?
