Hello it never fails to get a good laugh then to read the auctions on E-bay for "rare"parts or toys that are just common.Or like the one I just saw a 1949 oliver 88 "with 2-speed over/under"wow that has got to be a rare tractor!what could it be worth?$20,000 maybe more!(relax this is just a joke I am very aware of the fact that oliver 88s did not come with a over/under)anyway been busy just wanted to say hi

I went to an auction yesterday that had a Oliver 66 with a rare 2 cylinder Detroit in it. It's rare alright. Someone took the tub off and rigged up a frame with this Detroit engine in it. Even included a hand clutch

In the book Oliver Farm Tractors by herb Morrell it talks about a 4 cyl. general motors diesel ( I assume a 2 cycle jimmy?)being put in a super 88 to test out a hydramatic 4 speed transmission. To quote from the book they where plowing with it and when they raised the plow out of the ground the transmission shifted up and the front end came about 4 feet off of the ground!! Does any one have any info on this "test tractor" or heard of it? If it had a 4-53 in it I bet it would have made the XO-121 look sick!

You didn't happen to get a picture of that rare Detroit powered Oliver did you? It would be kind of neat to see since I have always been a Detroit fan and work for Detroit Diesel.

Has anyone seen a blue Super 77? I Have.
Geoffrey
