hello, my 1850's clutch will not disengage removed inspection cover, fingers seem to be all the same distance from throw out bearing about 1/2" or slightly less. push in clutch fingers get touched at same time move in a good distance, also moved the pedal to the lower hole on actuating arm fingers move in farther but still nothing, will go in low gear if slapped tried breaking it loose by standing and stomping on brakes in about 4th gear hydra power works fine clutch replaced in november 05 heavy duty everything works as it should except clutch. and i should be able to pull it 20-30ft with hydrapower in or out as long as its not in gear right? help, disgruntled:(

When was the last time you used the tractor? We used to have 1 or 2 each winter that would "sust to the flywheel". That may be you case too. A log chain and a large tree will solve that problem. Questions?

thanks for the replies, i figure itll be more serious than rust mr. schwiebert,i pressure washed it a few times to clean it up good and get it ready for painting but pulled it in and out of the garage afterward under its own power. only a week or so passed before i drug it out with the truck about 20ft very slowly since it was painted.
it was out of gear but i cant remember if the hydra was in or out.then tried to put it back inside after a day of sitting out and here i am with a pretty tractor whos clutch wont disengage.i can try the tree chain trick if you really think it will help but i did spend about a half an hour stomping/holding the brakes while it was moving, and they will lock up they work good but ill try anything if it will keep me from pulling that engine.

You can pull it short distances without problems. It sounds like one of the small pieces that the fingers pull on has cracked. The finger will work like it should but the bad piece will not lift the preasure plate off.You will have to pull the clutch.

There is an adjustment to the fingers in the pressue plate that set when the clutch is released, it can be done in the tractor but it is very difficult. Not sure this is the problem, but we have solved the same issue this way.
