Finally got that Gemmer steering box off and found out that the problem is the shaft and the center steering link, all the teeth are gone. Tried the dealer and Worthington Ag Parts. Can't locate any parts for the Gemmer system. Any ideas? Thanks for the help getting it out but can you help me now?

If I understand what you are telling me it makes no difference which power steering unit you have. You are talking the short vertical shaft that has the tapered spline end and the other end with the fine end that the arm to which the tie rods attach. The bolt that keeps them tigh was superceeded with a better bolt and maybe the arm also. What were the part numbers you asked for?

Yes that is what I need. The problem is the splines on both the shaft and the link are smooth. Why they didn't put splines all the way around is a mystery to me. all that was turning the link was that bolt which had wallowed out the groove on the shaft making and causing a few more turns of the steering wheel before actually moving that center link and ultimately the wheels. The dealer did find a source for the parts but a bit pricey. Neighbor works for the local weld shop and said he could put a keyway in them so we will try that route first. The parts are useless now so if it doesn't work we are only out the cost of the keyway.
