Delbert Lewis (Bless his soul) told me once that He had read where Oliver did make or approve two exhaust system for tractors with a mounted picker. seems the picker screens would block the air circulation and the engines would run hot. I don't think they came from the factory that way though. 99.99% are like Don said though. Cheaper and easier and runs cooler to just bypass a muffler and stick another stack out the front.

Jolly Ollie, Thats what someone I was talking to thought but wasn't sure, so it is factory then? Was it only one year they did that? And of course are they worth anything $$$? Yeah they do look pretty cool. I have the chance to buy one has been sitting for about a year, but has real nice sheet metal etc. Thanks again, Jim

I don't have any first hand experience w/ a 70, but from what I understand, it originally came up to one muffler under the hood, but once that was shot/rotted out, most farmers just cut a second hole in the shet metal and ran 2 pipes.

I have A 1948 rc70 with 2 exhast ports on the manifold it is to get the hot exhast out faster so the valves dont burn on the 5th and 6th cylinders so easy
