Oliver 77 stock puller TIRE question??

I run 4500 stock class and usually pull in second gear. I run about 20% tread 12.4 firstones wondering if new 12.4 firestones or worn 13.6's or new 13.6 firestones would work better. thanks also wondering if first gear would do better. thanks

I Have run the 15.5's at every thing from 2.5# to 10#. Its not so much that they don't work on hard tracks it's just that I think they are too wide for the 4500# tractor. they just sit up on top of those big tall lugs and I can't seem to get them to bite down in to a hard track.

I run 12.4's about 20% tread at about 6psi and never loose traction on a hard track always pull the front up and have to let up on the throttle and usually end up spinning out. My 12.4s do the best on hard tracks as far as traction. Do well on loose wet tracks but not as good as I would like. Trent

I am not an expert on this but on my stock 77 I pull at 5500# 13.6 tires old goodyears 1/2 worn with very skinny sharp 45 degree cleats. I would not have enough motor for 23 degree tires. The wifes super 77 with lots of motor pulls 4500# with 15.5 45 degree new BFG's and works good in soft or muddy conditions but just sits on top and spins on a hard track. My best advice for you 23 degree 11.5 or 12.5 4 psi air with as sharp and narrow of cleat as you can find. Just guess on my part. Good Luck

Curious as to what air pressure you run in the 15.5's. I have 13.6 BFG's and they seem to bite really well. Was going to go to a 15.5 but you say no good in clay???
