I left the key switch on and now the batteries are dead (two 6 volts in series). Can I jump start the tractor (Oliver 1365) with my car ?

I did try to jump start my 1365 with my car. Could not crank the diesel egine at all. Got my batteries recharged at the local shop and all is fine now. My mechanic also told me to go with one 12 volt battery instead of the two 6 volts.
Thanks to all.

Hey Bob, if you need to replace those batteries, toss those two 6 volts and put in one 12 volt. The 4DLT is the way to go. We did that to our 1365 a long time ago. The 31P-PHD is good too. Oh, if you want to jump that tractor, hook the positive right to the battery lug on the starter and hook the ground somewhere on the engine. There is a square cast lug on the engine that I use.
