I have a 880 with the Helical Trans. Question did Oliver print an operators manual for this?

I have a I&T Manual but has no thread on this type of transmission.

Does anyone know where I can pick up some literature on this. Thanks Mike

Does it have the field installed lube pump for the top imput shaft?I think you have to go to a AGCO dealer to see a break down.I've worked on my own with this transmission.

ejr, I forgotten about Maibach tractor in Creston Ohio. The closest agco dealer to me is in Maumee Ohio. So far I been doing my own work on it. My friend has helped when he could.

All I can tell you it's different than what the spur gear transmission. The shifting pattern different. Reverse gear shifting is just the opposite of what my super 77 is.

It has a lubrication pump which lubes the trans. Right now I was think of doing some proventive maintenance on it. checking end play things like that.

When I bought the tractor and brought home it was not getting any oil thru the pump. Took the pump off and had a broken gear in the pump. The oliver dealer said the star gear in the pump is no longer avaiable. Mine was broke in two peices.

My friend that works one Olivers looked this up in one of his 1650 parts books and thought what I was needing was the samething. When I went back and asked the parts man to look it up in his book and said its not the samething. The pump on mine is external mounted the ones on the later Olivers was internal pump. He did go back and get the part and we was all surprized that the gear it self was the same.

Learn something everyday I guess. I was a very happy person thats for sure!

The speeds are slower on the helical transmision
than the spur gear is. Thats about all I know for now. Just was looking for a manaul that has this type of trans.
Thanks Mike

I got a new gerotor for the external pump from AGCO last year. The key on the pump shaft was sheared on mine. I had the front cover machened as well. It pumps ok for now or at least it's still working after 250 hrs any way. Good luck

Try the Floyd Count Museum, 500 Gilbert Street, Charles City, Iowa 50616. The phone number is 641 228-1099. You can e-mail them at [email protected].

They have tractor and implement manuals available for sale. They also have the build cards for some of the tractors that were made in Charles City.
